HADITH OF THE DAY: 19-2-2021

🌷▫ *Hadith of the Day* ▫🌷
〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰
🍁 Abu Hurairah Radiyallahu 'anhu narrates that Rasullullah Sallallahu 'alaihi wasallam said: The poor Muslims will enter Paradise half-a-day earlier than the rich. This half-day will be equivalent to five hundred years of this world. (Tirmidhi: 2353)
Note: The preceeding Hadlth states that the poor Muslims will enter Paradise forty years before the rich; this may be in a situation where both the rich and poor have a greed for wealth. Whereas according to this Hadlth, the poor will enter Paradise five hundred years before the rich; this may be when the poor do not have a greed for wealth. (Jami-'ul-usul)

HADITH OF THE DAY

Narrated Sahl (Radi-Allahu 'anhu):

The Prophet said, "There is a gate in Paradise called Ar-Raiyan, and those who observe fasts will enter through it on the Day of Resurrection and none except them will enter through it. It will be said, 'Where are those who used to observe fasts?' They will get up, and none except them will enter through it. After their entry the gate will be closed and nobody will enter through it."

Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "The Banu Isra'il were ruled by the Prophets. When one Prophet died, another succeeded him. There will be no Prophet after me. Caliphs will come after me, and they will be many." The Companions said: "O Messenger of Allah, what do you command us to do?" He said, "Fulfill the pledge of allegiance to which is sworn first (then swear allegiance to the others). Concede to them their due rights and ask Allah that which is due to you. Allah will call them to account in respect of the subjects whom He had entrusted to them."

HADITH OF THE DAY

Narrated Humran: I saw `Uthman performing ablution; he washed his hands thrice, rinsed his mouth and then washed his nose, by putting water in it and then blowing it out, and washed his face thrice, and then washed his right forearm up to the elbow thrice, and then the left-forearm up to the elbow thrice, then smeared his head with water, washed his right foot thrice, and then his left foot thrice and said, "I saw Allah's Apostle performing ablution similar to my present ablution, and then he said, 'Whoever performs ablution like my present ablution and then offers two rak`at in which he does not think of worldly things, all his previous sins will be forgiven."

HADITH OF THE DAY

Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), "The supplication of every one of you will be granted if he does not get impatient and say (for example): 'I supplicated my Rubb but my prayer has not been granted'."

[Al-Bukhari and Muslim].

The narration of Muslim is: "The supplication of a slave continues to be granted as long as he does not supplicate for a sinful thing or for something that would cut off the ties of kinship and he does not grow impatient." It was said: "O Messenger of Allah! What does growing impatient mean?" He (ﷺ) said, "It is one's saying: 'I supplicated again and again but I do not think that my prayer will be answered.' Then he becomes frustrated (in such circumstances) and gives up supplication altogether."

'Abdullah bin Busr (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: One of the Companions said, "O Messenger of Allah. There are many injunctions of Islam for me. So tell me something to which I may hold fast." He said, "Keep your tongue wet with the remembrance of Allah."

HADITH OF THE DAY

Narrated Ibn 'Abbas (Radi-Allahu 'anhu):

Allah's Apostle (Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wa Sallam) was the most generous of all the people, and he used to reach the peak in generosity in the month of Ramadan when Gabriel met him. Gabriel used to meet him every night of Ramadan to teach him the Qur'an. Allah's Apostle (Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wa Sallam) was the most generous person, even more generous than the strong uncontrollable wind (in readiness and haste to do charitable deeds).

HADITH OF THE DAY

‘Umar bin Al-Khattab (May Allah be pleased with
them) said:
Once we were sitting in the company of Messenger
of Allah ( ﷺ ) when there appeared a
man dressed in very white clothes and having
extraordinary black hair. No signs of fatigue of
journey appeared on him and he was known to none
of us. He sat down facing the Prophet
( ﷺ) leaning his knees against the
knees of the Prophet ( ﷺ ) and placing
both of his palms over his two thighs and said,
“O Muhammad ( ﷺ )! Tell me about
Islam”. He ( ﷺ) replied, “Islam is to
testify that none has the right to be worshipped but
Allah, and that Muhammad ( ﷺ ) is the
Messenger of Allah; that you observe Salat (prayers),
pay Zakat, observe Saum (fasting) of Ramadan and
perform Hajj (pilgrimage) of the House, provided you
have resources of making journey to it.” He replied:
“You have spoken the truth.” We were surprised to
see that he had asked him and confirmed the
correctness of the answers.
He then enquired: “Tell me about Iman.” He
( ﷺ) said: “It is to believe in Allah, His
angels, His Books, His Messengers and the Last Day
and that you believe in preordainment (destiny), its
bad and good consequences.” He said, “You have
spoken the truth.”
He then enquired: “Tell me about Ihsan.” He
( ﷺ) said, “It is to worship Allah as if
you are seeing Him; and although you do not see
Him, He sees you.”
He enquired: “Inform me about the Hour (i.e., the
Day of Resurrection).” He ( ﷺ ) replied,
“I have no more knowledge thereof than you”.
He said, “Inform me about some of its signs.” He
( ﷺ) said, “They are – that a
bondswoman gives birth to her own master, and that
you will find the barefooted, naked, poor shepherds
competing one another in the construction of higher
buildings.” Then he departed.
The Messenger of Allah kept silent for a while then
he said to me, “O ‘Umar! Do you know who the
questioner was?” I replied, “Allah and His Messenger
know better.” The Prophet ( ﷺ) said,
“He was Jibril (Gabriel); he came to you to teach you
your religion.”

*HADITH OF THE DAY IS ABOUT REPENTANCE*

*HADITH OF THE DAY IS ABOUT RECITING QUR'AN*

Narrated Abdullah ibn Amr ibn al-'As: Yazid ibn Abdullah said that Abdullah ibn Amr asked the Prophet (peace be upon him): In how many days should I complete the recitation of the whole Qur'an, Messenger of Allah? He replied: In one month. He said: I am more energetic to complete it in a period less than this. He kept on repeating these words and lessening the period until he said: Complete its recitation in seven days. He again said: I am more energetic to complete it in a period less than this. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: He who finishes the recitation of the Qur'an in less than three days does not understand it.
