Giving charity to ward off calamities

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

Abu Hurayrah, may Allah be pleased with him, narrated that the Prophet said,

“There is no day in which the slaves rise in the morning except that two angels descend; one of them says, 'O Allah! Compensate the one who spends.' The other angel says, 'O Allah! Destroy the wealth of the one who is stingy.'” [Al-Bukhari and Muslim]

It is also confirmed that charity repels calamities, as stated in the hadeeth, “Doing good (to the people) protects one from misfortunes, secret charity extinguishes the anger of the Lord, and keeping ties with kinship increases one’s life span.” [At-Tabaraani - Al-Albaani classified it as hasan (good)]

Also, Anas, may Allah be pleased with him, narrated that the Prophet said,

“Doing good (to the people) protects one from misfortunes, calamities, and destruction; and the people of goodness in this worldly life will be the people of goodness in the Hereafter.” [Al-Albaani classified it as saheeh (sound)]

Moreover, the hadeeth reported by Al-Bukhari and Muslim about the solar eclipse reads, “The Prophet said,

'When you see that [i.e. the eclipse], supplicate to Allah, say Allahu Akbar, pray, and give charity.'”

Ibn Daqeeq Al-‘Eed , when interpreting this hadeeth, said, “This hadeeth is evidence that charity is desirable when someone fears something in order to repel the misfortune that he fears.”

Imaam Ibn Al-Qayyim said in ‘Iddat As-Saabireen, “In charity, there are numerous benefits which no one can enumerate but Allah, among which is that it protects one from misfortunes and repels trials to the extent that it repels tribulations off an oppressor (i.e. charity repels tribulations even if it was given by an evil or an oppressive person).

Ibraaheem An-Nakha'i said: 'They (the righteous predecessors) held that charity protects the oppressed man, wipes out the sin, preserves wealth, brings forth sustenance, brings joy to the heart, and necessitates having trust in Allah and thinking well of Him in the same manner that stinginess is mistrust in Allah.

Charity repels the devil, purifies one’s soul and develops it, endears the slave to Allah and to His creation, and conceals all his defects in the same manner that stinginess conceals every good trait.

Charity increases one’s life-span, incites people to supplicate for the person and to love him, repels the torment of the grave from the person, provides shade for him on the Day of Judgment, intercedes for him with Allah, eases the difficulties of this world and the Hereafter for him, and makes it easier for him to do all good deeds; indeed, its benefits are many times more.'”

Therefore, there is no harm in giving charity in order to attain what is confirmed in the Sharia as a promise to repel a calamity from the person who gives charity.

We ask Allah to make us charitable and save us from calamities. Aameen.

Allah knows best.

 BismilLaahir Rahmaanir Raheem.

The Messenger for Mercy Prophet Muhammad sallallahu alaihi wasallam encouraged us to make dua for ALLAH to guide the misguided people instead of cursing them.

Imam Abu Huraira may ALLAH be pleased with him reported: At-Tufail came with his companions and they said, “O Messenger of ALLAH, the tribe of Daws has disbelieved and rejected you, so pray to ALLAH against them.” And it was said, “May the tribe of Daws be destroyed!” The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “O Allah, guide the tribe of Daws and bring them to me.” In another narration, the Prophet said, “Verily, I have not been sent to invoke curses, but rather I was sent as mercy.” Saheeh Bukhari 4131, Saheeh Muslim 2524. Grade: Muttafaqun Alayhi (authenticity agreed upon) according to Al-Bukhari and Muslim.

Let's strive to do daawah to non Muslims around us especially our relatives who are not yet Muslims and pray that ALLAH guide them to join us instead cursing and hating them. Only ALLAH guide whom HE wishes as such let's pray for ALLAH to guide them else if you don't pray for them and do daawah to them till they die, then your prayers cannot do anything to help them even if they are your parents. *_May ALLAH keep guiding us all_*. Aameen.

 BismilLahir Rahmaanir Raheem.

The difference between an Islamic marriage and an un-Islamic marriage is that the Islamic marriage fulfils the conditions and pillars of a correct religious marriage, the most important of which are:

*_The consent of the bride’s guardian_*.
*_The presence of two witnesses_*.
*_A MAHAR OR DOWRY (bridal money given by the groom to the bride)_*.

Therefore, if a man proposes to marry a woman and she agrees and he marries her, then their marriage is void even if he gives her a dowry because it did not fulfill two major conditions: the consent of the guardian and the presence of two witnesses. The Prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam, said: “There is no marriage except with a guardian and two trustworthy witnesses.” [At-Tirmithi and Abu Daawood]. The Prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam, also said: "Any woman who marries without the consent of her guardian, her marriage is void, her marriage is void, her marriage is void." [At-Tirmithi and Abu Daawood].

Even though Imam Abu Haneefah is of the view that marriage without consent of the sister's guardian or parent is still valid, this opinion is subject to the fact that the woman is elderly and had married before and remarrying and has no family arround her. Even so, the local imam is recommended to act as her guardian to ensure the marriage is organised through shari'ah compliance. Allah knows best. *_May ALLAH keep guiding us all_*. Aameen.

The Effects of Salaat in our lives BismilLaah

As we begin a new year Islamically, let's make our daily salaat our 1st priority in our life. Let's not waste our time wishing and talking about the new year but instead strive to be better Muslims each day.

Today we have indeed come to treat the Prayer (Salah) as something insignificant in our lives. Very often we hear some says, "I will start praying when the time comes." Others, specially the younger Muslims, do not find much comfort, and joy in their Prayers. Due to our treatment of Prayer as a burden, due to lack of Islamic knowledge, weak eemaan etc, our love and passion for the Prayer has vanished.

Our hearts have become hardened, and we have become a depressed and defeated people. As a result, many are searching for 'cures and remedies' to the distress in our lives, through any means available, but are unable to find any because they have ignored the greatest medicine *Salaah and zikir*!

The whole purpose of Salaah is to be ever conscious of Allah, the Creator and Sustainer of all things. Salaah is indeed, one of the most comprehensive forms of Dhikr (Remembrance). No wonder, Allah states in a hadith qudsi: "Out of all the ways through which My servant gets closer to Me, Salaah is the dearest to Me." (Bukhari). Allahu Akbar.

Remember, first and foremost, that as soon as you commence your Salaah, Shaytan makes it his duty to fill your mind with anything and everything but not thoughts of Allah. He tries ceaselessly to disengage your mind and heart from such remembrance. It is this state of absentmindedness that destroys the quality of our Prayer. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) once said: "Allah does not accept the Prayers of an individual until his heart achieves in it what his body has achieved." [Al-Ghazali in Ihya-Uloom ad-Deen].

Let's declare jihaad against our laziness and with immediate effect make salaah our most priority in life not our job not our relationships and nothing else but salaah first. Just say in Shaa ALLAH and set your marks.

*_May Allah protect us from sheitan and help us in concentrating on our salaat_*. Aameen.

[Friday Sermon] The Importance Of A Girl Child Education In Islam

By Imam Murtadha Gusau

In the name of Allah, Most Merciful, Bestower of Mercy.

All praise is for Allah. And may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon the Messenger, his Companions and those who follow his guidance.

To proceed:

Dear brothers and sisters, Islam advocates educating women and enlightening them about the teachings of religion, as this greatly influences the life of women as well as that of their children in the future. As Hafiz Ibrahim, the Poet of the Nile said:

"The mother is a school; if she is well-prepared, a noble nation is prepared."

Besides, the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) addressed women saying:

"O womenfolk…."

He even specified a day on which he used to address them; when some female Companions said to him:

"Men are always with you. So, specify a day for us."

He indeed specified a day on which he met them, admonished them and commanded them… [Imams Al-Bukhari and Muslim]

Moreover, the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) used to urge women to teach each other. For example, he said to Ash-Shifa Bint Abdullah Al-Adawiyyah:

"Teach Hafsah the Ruqyah (protective and healing supplications) for Namlah (Namlah literary means ant. It is a skin disease where pustules appear on the side of the body and they are swallowed like ants), just as you taught her writing." [Imams Ahmad and Al-Hakim]

The Mothers of the Believers, such as Aisha and Hafsah used to explain and teach matters of the religion to women. This was also the guidance of other male Companions, for they were keen on teaching their wives and informing them about the teachings of the religion, especially rulings that are specific to women, such as those related to ritual purification, menstruation, postpartum bleeding, prayer, marriage, divorce, breastfeeding, and so on. Some Companions used to hold gatherings of knowledge in their homes in order to teach their children and daughters.

Imam An-Nawawi transmitted on the authority of Qatadah who was a Tabi‘i, that:

"Whenever Anas Ibn Malik completed the recitation of the whole Qur'an, he used to gather his family and supplicate Allah (Du'a)." [Imam Abu Dawud]

On the whole, scholars were keen on teaching women. History has recorded the biographies of women who were knowledgeable in religion and were taught by their fathers, brothers and husbands. Such men present shining examples in caring for and educating both men and women without discrimination. Life i.e. daily obligations and duties did not divert them from their duty towards their families until their sons and daughters grew into excellent role models in knowledge and piety.

Here, I mention the biographies of some women who learned from their fathers and husbands. The purpose of this is to highlight the woman's position in Islam. Women scholars were appreciated by Muslim biographers, and therefore, they included them in their classifications of great figures and biographies. It is hoped that this will urge women students to exert their best efforts in learning religion and mastering what is beneficial for them in their scientific and practical life.

These women scholars specialised in different branches of knowledge at different ages. The names of women Companions have not been included because they are numerous and well-known. Rather, I will mention women from among the Tabi‘is and their successors:

1. Asma' Bint Asad Ibn Al-Furat

Her father was Maghrib’s (North-West Africa) famous scholar and judge. She was her father’s only daughter and he used to teach her the Qur'an, Hadith and Fiqh. She used to attend her father's assemblies of knowledge (Halqah) and contribute to debates. When her father was appointed as the army's commander in order to conquer Sicily, he attained a great victory and besieged the city of Sousse, but was killed there in 213 AH. Asma’ married one of her father’s students whose name was Muhammad Ibn Abu Al-Jawad and who was the head of the Hanafi scholars in Maghrib. Asma’ died in 250 AH.
[To know more about her biography, review Ad-Dibaj Al-Madhab by Ibn Farhun, page 305, and Faqihat Alimat by Muhammad Khair, page 29]

2. The sister of Al-Muzani

She is the sister of the Shafi‘i scholar, Isma'il Al-Muzani, the companion of Ash-Shafi‘i who died in 264 AH. His sister used to attend the Fiqh lectures of Ash-Shafi‘i. Some of the Shafi‘i scholars used to transmit her Fiqh opinions and her decisions regarding what she believed to be the most preponderant opinions. [To know more about her biography, review Tabaqat Ash-Shafi‘iyyah by Al-Asnawi, Volume 1, page 443]

3. Hafsah Bint Sirin

She is the sister of the noble Tabi‘i, Muhammad Ibn Sirin. She was trustworthy and knowledgeable in Fiqh as well as in other branches of knowledge. She was a sincere worshipper and one of the most prominent Tabi’i women. She completed the memorisation of the Qur'an at the age of twelve (12) and lived for seventy (70) years. Her brother, Muhammad, used to ask her about what he did not have knowledge about in the Qur'an. Mahdi Ibn Maimun mentioned that she remained in her place of worship for thirty (30) years and did not leave it except for a siesta and answering the call of nature. She died after 100 AH. Her traditions are mentioned in different books of Hadith. [To know more about her biography, review Tahthib Al-Kamal, by Al-Mizzi, Volume 35, page 151; and Siyar A'lam An-Nubala, by Ath-Thahabi, Volume 4, page 507]

Respected brothers and sisters, below is a very nice story which will In Shaa Allah make you all aware about the importance of women's education, especially young Muslim girls!

After finishing Salatul Isha', a Muslim girl sat on her Prayer mat to make Du'a. Once after she finished making Du'a to her Lord, her mobile rang. She picked up saying: 'Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu.' A voice of a young man replied: 'Wa alaikumus salam wa rahmatullah wa barakatuhu!' Can I speak to (so and so) please? The Muslim girl said: 'Sorry brother, you have dialed the wrong number'...Then she hung up. After few minutes, her mobile rang again. She picked it up, it was the young man who called her few minutes ago. He told her: 'I called again to apologise for disturbing you! You seem to be a good girl! Can I know you better?' The girl was shocked for few seconds but then she replied: 'Brother… Fear Allah! you are suppose to be at Mosque praying Salatul Isha' but here you are going after girls to flirt with them at night! Here you are disobeying your Lord instead of obeying HIM! Shame on you!!!' After saying these words, she immediately hang up. Few days later, he called her again: 'Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullah wa barakatuhu sister, please don't hang up! I want to apologise again and inform you that I went back to pray all my five (5) daily prayers at Mosque! All praises to Allah and thank you for waking me up from my neglectfulness! Please, can I know the name of the one through whom Allah guided me? I really need someone like you in my life to strengthen my Iman and support me to stay on the right path! Please help me sister, may Allah reward you for that!' She didn't reply and started to think: 'Should she accept to help him to stay on the right path? Should she accept that he will be in touch with her from time to time to help him strengthen his Iman?' She heard a satanic voice whispering: 'He is a good guy now! Why are you so worried about it?! Let him call you... you both have pure intention! He really needs you! If you refuse his suggestion, he will go astray and it will be your fault!!' She was about to tell him her name but suddenly a little voice whispered: 'Allah is watching you'… It was her conscience and her education which woke her up from making a big mistake! 'Sorry brother!' she replied finally: 'If you are sincere in your repentance then you will find people who are better than me to help you! Even I need someone who helps me to stay at the right path more than you! At Mosque, you will surely find many righteous brothers who would be good company which will help you to get closer to Allah! Please, if you really fear your Lord now and afraid of HIS punishment, then do not call this number ever again! Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu!' Then she hang up and she went back to her Prayer mat rising her hands to make the following Du'a:

“O Allah, Turner of the hearts, make my heart firm on your religion and save me from the evil of Fitnah, Ameen!”

May Allah accept our Ibadah (worship) and supplications, May He guide our leaders and provide us with a lasting peace in our beloved country Nigeria, ameen Ya Mujib!

May the peace and blessings of Allah be upon our beloved Prophet and Master, Muhammad peace and blessings be upon him, his family and all his Companions.

*Allah says in the Qur'an:*

*Who are stingy and enjoin upon [other] people stinginess and conceal what Allah has given them of His bounty - and We have prepared for the disbelievers a humiliating punishment*

*-Sura An-Nisa', Ayah 37*
*In another Surah Allah says:*

وَمَنْ يُوقَ شُحَّ نَفْسِهِ فَأُولَٰئِكَ هُمُ الْمُفْلِحُونَ

*And whoever is protected from the stinginess of his soul - it is those who will be the successful.*

*-Sura Al-Hashr, Ayah 9*
*Jabir b. Abdullah reported that Allah's Messenger ﷺ said: "..Be on your guard against stinginess for stinginess destroyed those who were before you, as it incited them to shed blood and make lawful what was unlawful for them."*

*[Sahih Muslim 2578]*
*It was narrated that Abu Hurairah said:*

*"A man said: 'O Messenger of Allah ﷺ, which kind of charity is best? He said:*

*'Giving charity when you are in good health, and feeling stingy, hoping for a long life and fearing poverty."'*

‘Silsilah Ahadeeth As-Saheehah’

Muhaddith, Shaykh, Allamaa’
Muhammad Nasir uddeen al-Albaani

Translated by
Abbas Abu Yahya

No. 175 – From Abu Huraira who said: the Messenger of
Allaah -sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam- said:

*'One of you should not dare drink standing up.’*

In another wording:
From Abu Huraira said: from the Prophet -sallAllaahu alayhi
wa sallam-: that he saw a man drinking standing up, so the
Prophet -sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam- said to him:

*‘Vomit it out.’*

The man asked: *‘Why?’*
He -sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam- said:

*'Would it please you that a cat drank along with you?’*

The man answered:

The Messenger said:

*‘For indeed, someone more evil than a cat drank along with you! Shaytan!!’*

[Collected by Ahmad, Darmi and Tahawi , and Al-Albaani
said this chain is Saheeh.]

No. 176/2175 – From Abu Huraira who said that
Messenger of Allaah -sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam- said:

*‘If the person who drank whilst standing knew what was in his stomach, he would vomit it out.’*

[Collected by Ahmad and Albaani said it was Saheeh]

No. 177 – From Anas from the Messenger of Allaah –
sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam– : that *‘he prohibited’ – and in another wording: ‘rebuked us’ – from drinking while standing.’*

[Collected by Muslim, Abu Dawood, Tirmidhi, Darmi, Ibn
Majah & Tahawi]

 *Shaykh Albani commented:*

‘The evident prohibition in these Ahadeeth acknowledge the
prohibition of drinking whilst standing if you do not have an
excuse. There are many Ahadeeth which mention that the Prophet -sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam- drank standing up, so the scholars have differed in bringing harmony between the two different types of Ahadeeth. The majority of the
scholars hold the opinion that the prohibition is not a total prohibition, and that the command of vomiting after having drank is only a recommended action.

Ibn Hazm opposed them in this, and went with the ruling of the prohibition to drink standing up, and perhaps this
opinion is closer to being correct.

As for the opinion that it is not a total prohibition then the
wording *‘rebuked’* does not support that opinion, nor does the command *‘to vomit’,* and what I mean by this is, that
vomiting is a severe hardship upon humans, and I am not aware of such a hardship in the Sharia’ as a consequence
for being lax about a recommended action! Likewise the
saying of the Messenger -sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam-:
*‘Indeed Shaytan drank with you.’* Then this is a strict
deterrent from drinking whilst standing up, and it cannot be inferred from this, that it is possible to say that, not sitting
whilst drinking is merely leaving a recommended action.

As for the Ahadeeth which mention drinking whilst standing up, then we can assume that this is when there is an
excuse for it, like if there is no space to sit, or that it is a
hanging water skin and you need to reach it and this point has been indicated in some Ahadeeth, and Allaah knows

Dua for children:

In the name of Allah, the most Beneficent, the most Merciful!

All praises are for Allah SWT, the most Compassionate, the most Forgiving.

Salutations and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad SAW, his family and companions.

Oh Allah, I submit myself to You.

I realise that parenting a child is a very difficult task and I turn to You in humility for Your help.

I implore You for Your wisdom and guidance.

Oh Allah, I know that our children are an amaanat from You, to care for and to raise in a manner that is pleasing to You.

Help me do that in the best way.
Teach me how to love in a way that You would have me love.

Help me where I need to be healed, improved, nurtured, and made whole.

Help me walk in righteousness and integrity so that You may always be pleased with me.

Allow me to be a God-fearing role model with all the communication, teaching, and nurturing skills that I may need.

Oh Allah, You know what our children need. Help and guide us in praying for our children.

Oh Allah, put a hedge of safety around our children.
Protect their bodies, minds, and emotions from any kind of evil and harm.

Oh Allah, I pray that You protect them from accidents, diseases, injuries, and any other physical, mental, or emotional afflictions and abuse.

Oh Allah, I pray that You keep our children free from social ills, any form of addiction and vices.

Draw them close to You for protection from every ill and evil influence of our society, whether it’s apparent to us or not.

Oh Allah, grant them the best of company as their friends — people who will inspire them to love and worship and obey You.

Oh Allah, grant our children hidaaya and a heart that loves to obey You.

Shine Your light on any secret or unseen rebellion in their hearts and destroy it before it takes root.

Oh Allah, guide them away from any pride, selfishness, jealousy, hypocrisy, malice, and greed and make them uncomfortable with sins.

Penetrate their hearts with Your love and reverence today and always.

Oh Allah, make apparent to them the truth in any situation and let them not be misled by falsehood.

Oh Allah, grant our children the ability to make clear decisions and let them always be attracted to good things that are pure, noble, true, and just.

Oh Allah, guide them in making choices that please You.

Oh Allah, help them to taste the sweetness of walking with a humble spirit in obedience and submission to You.

Oh Allah, grant them the wisdom to choose their words carefully and bless them with a generous and caring spirit.

Oh Allah, I pray that they never stray from the path of deen and that You give them a future filled with Your best promises.

Oh Allah, always keep our children cleansed and pure from evil and shaytaan.

Oh Allah, keep them steadfast in establishing Salaah and help them revere the Glorious Quran as Your Word and Law and to read it with understanding daily. Let it be their source of light and guidance.

Oh Allah, let our daughters love wearing hijab and our sons the dress of a humble Muslim.

Let their dress be a representation of their Imaan and of their love and respect for Your commands.

Oh Allah Lead them to a position where they rely truly on Your power alone and fear You in the open and in secret.

Oh Allah, make them so strong in their deen that they never encounter doubt.

Oh Allah, do not allow any negative attitudes in the place of our children’s lives.

Oh Allah, guide our children in honouring and obeying You, Your Rasool (peace be upon him), and us as parents (when we are commanding that which is pleasing to You).

Oh Allah Make them the coolness of our eyes.

Oh Allah, fill our children with compassion and caring that will overflow to each member of our family.

Oh Allah, grant them piety.

Oh Allah, help them love, value, appreciate, and respect one another with good communication between them always.

Oh Allah, drive out any division between our children and bring them healing.

I pray there be no strain, breach, misunderstanding, arguing, fighting, or severing of ties.

Oh Allah, make them to one day marry righteous, God-fearing, kind, hard-working, intelligent, beautiful, healthy spouses who get along with and respect and love (and genuinely enjoy) every member of our family and who lead our children (i.e. their spouses) even closer to You and Jannat ul Firdaus.

Oh Allah, please grant me the company of pious friends, relatives, extended community members, and teachers who will be inspirational role models for my children and will help me raise them to be the best of believers.

Oh Allah, please don’t let me become self-satisfied and arrogant in my parenting, please don’t humble me or shame me through my children’s misdeeds either.

Please let me always give credit for their good character to You and please don’t ever let me stop praying for them.

Oh Allah, please make my children leaders and not followers, may they lead justly and fairly, may they never lead anyone astray.

Oh Allah, please don’t let my children be “late” in meeting any of life’s milestones that are expected of them.

Oh Allah, protect my children from debt. Make them givers and not takers.

Oh Allah grant them wealth that is halaalan, dayyiban, mubarakan.

Oh Allah, grant my children noble professions with halal incomes that give them respect and dignity in Your Eyes and in the eyes of their fellow human beings.

Oh Allah, grant them worldly comfort so that my children can come to You through the Door of Gratitude and so that they are not forced to come to You through the Door of Patience.

Please let them always be grateful…and patient.

Oh Allah, I pray for a close, loving, happy and fulfilling relationship with them for all the days of our lives and to be reunited with them in Jannat ul Firdausi us.

آمِيْن يَارَبَّ الْعَالَمِينْ

Explanation to "Qabli" and "Baadi" in Salaat.
Lets learn and share plz In Shaa Allah.
Qabli is the SUJUD you make before SALAM when you mistakenly
obligatory parts of salat.
WHILE Baadi is the SUJUD you make after SALAM when you
mistakenly ADD during salat.
During salaat one may make a mistake and ADD something to his
or her salaat or Omit something in salaat.
These two mistakes often confuse us on how to compensate for
them. I will try to explain the two terms bcs they are very
important to complete our salaat properly.
When you add anything like rakaat, sujuud etc in salaat which
makes the salaat more than expected, we term it BAADI.
To compensate for BAADI you will add two sujuud after final
Tashahhud and Tasleem then sit down to repeat tashahhud and
Tasleem to complete your salaat.
When you noticed you've shortened or omitted something in your
then compensate with QABLI. It is compensated by two sujuud
the final Tashahhud before final Tasleem.
If you are wondering omitting something whiles reciting Tashahhud
then just do Qabli and try to increase your Sunnah salaat or Naflat
salaat to help fix any unknown mistakes to our fard prayers.
Note:Tashahhud is the ''Attahiiyaat to end'' and Tasleem is the
final ''Assalaamu Alaikum Warahmatullah we say by turning our
head to the right then to the left''
May Allah keep guiding us aright and may He forgive our

Praise be to Allah.

Ruqyah is a vast subject and covers many topics such as Sihry (Magic) Masaha (Possession) and Ayn (Evil Eye). Ruqyah is the treatment relayed to us by the Prophet Muhammad (saw) for afflictions such as Sihr (Magic) Masaha (Possession) and Ayn (Evil Eye).).

Ruqyah is when a person recites part of the Qur’an such as Al-Fatihah or makes supplication using words transmitted from the authentic Hadith of the Prophet (saw) Ref. Fath-ul-Majid]

It was narrated that A’ishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said:

"When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was ill, he would recite al-Mu`awidhatayn (surahs of Al-Falaq and An-Nas) over himself and spit dryly. When his pain grew intense, I recited over him and wiped him with his own hand, seeking its blessing. " (Al-Bukharee).

What to recite to do Ruqyah for yourself or for someone else, there are many such du'as, most common are Al-Fatihah and Al-Mu`awidhatayn.

A group of the Companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) set out on a journey and traveled until they came near one of the Arab tribes. They asked them for hospitality but they were refused. Then the leader of that tribe was stung, and his people tried everything to cure him but nothing helped. Then some of them said, "Why don’t you go to those people who are staying (nearby)? Maybe one of them has something." So they went to them and said, "O people, our leader has been stung and we have tried everything and nothing helped him. Do you have anything?" One of them said, "Yes, by Allah. I will perform Ruqyah for him, but by Allah we asked you for hospitality and you did not give us anything, so we will not perform Ruqyah for you unless you give us something in return." So they agreed on a flock of sheep, then he started to blow on him and recite Al-hamdu Lillahi Rabb il-`Alameen. Then he recovered quickly from his complaint and started walking, and he was completely cured. After that they took the flock of sheep, and some of the companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Let us share it out." The one who had performed Ruqyah said, "Do not do anything until we come to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and tell him what happened, and we will wait and see what he tells us to do." So they came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and told him what had happened. He said, "How did you know that it is a Ruqyah?" Then he said, "You did the right thing. Share them out, and give me a share." And the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) smiled. (Al-Bukharee and Muslim).

The du`aa’s that have been narrated in the Sunnah include the following: It was narrated that Ibn `Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to seek refuge for al-Hasan and al-Husayn, and he would say, ‘Your father [ meaning Ibrahim peace be upon him] used to seek refuge with Allah for Isma`il and Ishaq with these words: A`udhu bi kalimat Allah al-tammah min kulli shaytanin wa hammah wa min kulli `aynin lammah (I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah, from every devil and every poisonous reptile, and from every evil eye).’" (Al-Bukharee).

So let's always limit ourselves to the Shari Ruqyah, instead of Coptic exorcism.

Tawhid is the Most Trustworthy Handhold

Allah's statement,

(Whoever disbelieves in Taghut and believes in Allah, then he has grasped the most trustworthy handhold that will never break. And Allah is All-Hearer, All-Knower) is in reference to, ''Whoever shuns the rivals of Allah, the idols, and those that Shaytan calls to be worshipped besides Allah, whoever believes in Allah's Oneness, worships Him alone and testifies that there is no deity worthy of worship except Him, then

﴿فَقَدِ اسْتَمْسَكَ بِالْعُرْوَةِ الْوُثْقَى﴾

(then he has grasped the most trustworthy handhold.)

(257. Allah is the Wali (Protector or Guardian) of those who believe. He brings them out from darknesses into light. But as for those who disbelieve, their Awliya' (supporters and helpers) are Taghut (false deities and false leaders), they bring them out from light into darknesses. Those are the dwellers of the Fire, and they will abide therein forever.)

Allah stated that whoever follows what pleases Him, He will guide him to the paths of peace, that is Islam, or Paradise. Verily, Allah delivers His believing servants from the darkness of disbelief, doubt and hesitation, to the light of the plain, clear, explained, easy and unequivocal truth. He also stated that Shaytan is the supporter of the disbelievers who beautifies the paths of ignorance and misguidance that they follow, thus causing them to deviate from the true path into disbelief and wickedness.

﴿أُولَـئِكَ أَصْحَـبُ النَّارِ هُمْ فِيهَا خَـلِدُونَ﴾

(Those are the dwellers of the Fire, and they will abide therein forever.)

(And verily, this is my straight path, so follow it, and follow not (other) paths, for they will separate you away from His path. This He has ordained for you that you may have Taqwa) ﴿6:153﴾,

﴿وَجَعَلَ الظُّلُمَـتِ وَالنُّورَ﴾

(And originated the darknesses and the light) ﴿6:1﴾, and,

﴿ظِلَـلُهُ عَنِ الْيَمِينِ﴾

(to the right and to the lefts) ﴿16: 48﴾.

_The following are the ten sinful women or those women who are accursed and who will be removed from the mercy of Allaah
 ﺗﻌﺎﻟﻰ :_
*1. Tattooing: the one who does it and the one who gets it done.*

*2. Plucking the eyebrows: the doers and the one who gets it done.*

*3. Artificially creating space between the teeth to look beautiful: the doers and the one who gets it done.*

(Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 5931; Muslim, 2125)

*4. Adding false hair: the provider of false hair and the one who gets it done.*
Source (Hadith): Narrated Ibn `Umar and Abu Hurairah : The Prophet ﷺ has cursed the lady who lengthens her hair artificially and the one who gets her hair lengthened, and also the lady who tattoos (others) and the one who gets herself tattooed.
(Saheeh al-Bukhaaree (5933, 5934, 5937, 5940, 5942, 5947, ) and Saheeh Muslim (5298, 5300) and also reported on the authority of `Aaishah)

*5. The woman whose husband is angry at her:*
Source (Hadith): Narrated Abu Hurairah:
The Prophet said,
❝ If a woman spends the night deserting her husband's bed (does not sleep with him), then the angels send their curses on her till she comes back (to her husband). ❞
(Saheeh Buhari (3237, 5193, 5194) and Saheeh Muslim (3366, 3368))

*6. Those who imitate men:*
Source (Hadith): Narrated Ibn `Abbaas: Allah’s Messenger ﷺ cursed those men who are in the similitude (assume the manners) of women and those women who are in the similitude (assume the manners) of men. (Saheeh al-Bukhaaree (5885))

*7. Those Women who are Ungrateful to their Husband:*
Narrated Ibn 'Abbas: The Prophet said,
❝ I was shown the Hell-fire
and that the majority of its dwellers were women who were ungrateful. ❞ It was asked, ❝ Do they disbelieve in Allah? ❞ (or are they ungrateful to Allah? The prophet replied, ❝ They are ungrateful to their husbands and are ungrateful for the favors and the good (charitable deeds) done to them. If you have always been good to one of them and then she sees something in you (not of her liking), she will say, 'I have never received any good from you. ❞
(Saheeh al- Bukhaaree Vol. 7 Hadith no.5197)

*8. Those Women who wears Perfume and goes out (to the market or mosque):*
It was narrated from Abu Moosa (Radiyyallahu Anhu) that the Prophet said, ❝ If a woman puts on perfume and passes by people so that they can smell her fragrance, then she is such and such, ❞ and he (Salalahu Alayhi Wasalam) spoke sternly - meaning an adulteress (zaaniyah).
(Narrated by Abu Dawood (4173) and al-Tirmidhi (2786); classed as saheeh by Ibn Daqeeq al-Eid in al-Iqtiraah (126) and by Shaykh al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Tirmidhi)
N.B : _It is not permissible for women to put on perfume, whether she is going to the mosque or anywhere else; rather it is narrated that women are specifically forbidden to use perfume when going to the mosque._
Source (Hadith): It was narrated that Zaynab, the wife of ‘Abd-Allah ibn Mas‘ood (may Allah be pleased with her and her husband) said: The Messenger of Allaah said to us,
❝ _If one of you (women) wants to go to the mosque, let her not put on perfume._❞
(Saheeh Muslim (443))

*9. Women making a wanton display of themselves (Tabarruj) and showing their charms and not adhering to correct Islamic hijab and noble Islamic manners.*

*10. Those Women who pile their hair on top of their heads(camel hump hijab), they will not see Paradise or smell its fragrance:*

Narrated Abu Hurayrah (Radiyyallahu Anhu) that the Prophet ﷺ said:
❝ _There are two types of the people of Hell whom I have not seen: men with whips like the tails of cattle with which they strike the people, and women who are clothed but naked, walking with an enticing gait, with something like the humps of camels on their heads. They will not enter Paradise nor even smell its fragrance, and its fragrance can be smelled from such and such a distance._ ❞
(Saheeh Muslim)

Al-Nawawi said concerning the meaning of this passage:

“clothed yet naked”

means that they will uncover part of their bodies to show their beauty, so they will be clothed yet naked. And it was said that they will wear thin clothes which shows what is beneath them, so they will be virtually clothed yet naked.

     *May Allah forgive our imperfection*.Ameen.
